Disability: Courage and Strength

Yesterday I took my friend to our State-run public transportation board for an evaluation to determine whether he was eligible for a private bus to transport him to the doctor, shopping and such.

While I was sitting there, I was deeply touched by all the people who were truly in need of help.

They managed to get to the office in their wheelchairs and walkers and what struck me was how so many of these people seemed to have a spirit of self confidence. Their courage and determination to be independent is to be admired.

My memory of this experience will linger and has given me a new perspective on my life... I am so very blessed.

Bus for disabled persons
by: Anonymous

If it was not for the bus for disabled none of us would get to get away from our houses. But using those buses are still independent. I had to stop driving my car in sept 2003... because of being legally blind. I knew it was coming so i had the paperwork ready to submit.

Now i go where ever i want or need to go. Those buses are a blessing for us. Seniors dread having to stop driving their cars. But it is not that bad. It just takes patience and very good scheduling for the buses. And everyone is safer. Thank you
