Poland

A friend is one who walks in when others walk out"

Dear Victoria,

I am a widow, 68, a retired teacher, with a son living 'on the other side of the pond' (that's how they refer to Canada).

I lived most of my life in Warsaw, Poland's capital, and at present in a Warsaw satellite town on the Vistula river.

I have visited England on several occasions and always enjoyed my stay in your country. My first time in London was when I was twenty. I was a student, on a very tight budget, so my sightseeing was mostly walking, visiting museums (admission free at that time!) and listening to speakers in Hyde Park Corner...

Would love to hear from you and share our memories and talk about anything under the sun, Magda

Polish Easter
by: Magda from Poland

Dear Victoria,

If you are intrested in customs and cultures, this is the right time to have a glance at ours!

Polish Easter is a colourful (although it may not be this year due to this horrendous winter being so long) holiday. Unles you have already been inundated with emails, please send me a line.

Looking forward to hearing from you, with best wishes, Magda

London
by: Anne

Hi,

I love London. We travel to Europe quite often and stay outside of London in an area named Romsey. We stay at Herron's Potter and love it. The country is beautiful and I get to check out the antique shops.....which I love.

I also enjoy cross-stitching and have made many large Eva Rosenstand kits. We're planning on coming back to Europe in a few months and I would like to take a side trip to Copenhagen.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy gardening and landscaping. A few years ago I built a small pond in my yard (all by myself) and this past year I had a large pond with a stream and waterfall installed. I did all of the landscaping in and around the pond. I subscribe to the British Edition of Country Living Magazine and also British Gardens. I love European Gardens and have gotten some wonderful ideas.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Victoria, London.

I did receive your short message, and thank you for your reply. Which part of London are you from? I was raised in a small village in Somerset called Butleigh, and all my Ancestors were Farm Workers around the County, but I have lived out here in Australia over two thirds of my life now,and did break the tradition of Farm Working. And I like this Country very much, and in all those years,I have never returned to the UK.And I think I would not reckonize the place,if I ever returned there.Again thank you for your reply.Greetings from Australia. Regards,Ed.

Hello
by: George

Hello,

A year ago my wife of 31 years died and I haven't been the same since. As you no doubt know, grief and grieveing are intensely personal and private. This is my first attempt at venturing out onto the web in search of a pen pal. Should you be interested in exchanging emails, I'd be more than glad to hear from you. After all, we're safely separated by 3000 miles of Atlantic Ocean, so where could possibly be any harm?

Thank you, and best wishes.

George
