Retirement Gifts For Women

Need to find retirement gifts for women in your life?

As a newly retired woman (with no children), I've often wondered HOW women juggle work, and kids and home life for all of their working years. Really!

To me, it seems they must be almost superhuman to be both a good worker and to balance a household and children/teens for all those working years. I've actually asked moms:

"How in the world did you make it through all your working years?”

How do you wake up daily, get dressed, pack the baby and all their bottles and diapers, drive to the sitters, work a full long day, come home, make dinner, bathe baby and settle them down for the night? Now make husband time (if any!), make bottles for the next day... and then do it all over again and again? I've left out many things these super moms do as I never did it!

Kids grow older, they dress themselves, but that mom is still plugging along - getting everyone dressed, making breakfast, making lunches, getting kids off to school, working a long challenging day (sometimes with kids phone calls and sick kids), then coming home to dinner, taking them to sports events or clubs, getting home and crashing. Hmmm, where does hubby fit in here?

Finally, teenagers! Yikes! You can't totally trust them and you've got to be at work, so the kids are always on your mind.. when your mind should be on work! You help with breakfast, push them out the door and hope they make it to school, you work a full challenging stressful day, come home to kids arguing, kids going out at night so that you mentally stay alert until they are back home safe and sound........ enough!

Kids move out, empty nest starts, work is stressful, employers downsizing, but you gotta show you are still vital. Work work and work some more...

These special women deserve something really cool at retirement -- a reward for decades of hard work.

Let's check out some really special Retirement Gifts for Women!

Something pampering, special, nurturing, thoughtful....

As you've seen elsewhere on retirement-online.com, one issue with anyone newly retired is "what do I do all day?" It looks like retirement freedom, until you get there and suddenly -- splat! Now what?

Why not consider some thoughtful ideas to keep your newly retired women busy -- happily busy, with some fun gifts?

Gyms and Spa Memberships

What about a yearlong membership to a gym or spa?

At the gym, she can exercise daily, find new friends there, and feel energized from the gym!

At a spa, this retiree might love massages (or even foot massages) and that wonderful feeling of bliss can make the retiree jump for joy. Monthly chiropractor visits feel great too!

Talk about sheer luxury, look at these Turkish Towels! Surely this is the ultimate in pampering!

Travel Gift Certificates or Travel Products

Most of us can't afford a trip for a co-worker but a family member might consider this. You can also pass an envelope at work for a gift -- then buy one from the group. It might be a night or two away from home -- a Day Trip somewhere nearby (or an hour or two away).

You could buy a gift certificate for the hotel stay, a dinner at a really nice place, a seniors train trip through the the autumn leaves, just think of the possibilities! How about a Marriott Gift Card? or a gift certificate to any local event, hotel, or day trip.. just call them and most have gift certificates.

How about the ultimate jewelry organizer, a cute stuffed giraffe that does double duty as a Travel Sound Machine with Four Soothing Sounds, or a book for Women who Travel the World Solo.

Gift Baskets

I really love the look of feminine gift baskets, they just shine LOVE and APPRECIATION through their looks alone - then there are goodies inside!

They look so special on a gift table and promise many happy things inside. Choose a basket that let's her find herself again. Some ideas are below, click to see Amazon examples and what they contain. If you are creative, check out the examples and make one! If not, consider purchasing a pretty one and your gift giving is beautifully done.

Check out my ideas - chocolate baskets, tea baskets, bath pampering baskets!

YOUR Retirement Based on YOUR Personality!

I thought this book is pretty cool as it gives loads of suggestions based on your own personality. Why not help your new retiree transition nicely with a little thought on what to do next? My Next Phase: The Personality-Based Guide to Your Best Retirement

Retirement Mugs 'n More

Try a funny little mug that says "Do Retirement Your Way!"'Retired' Definition Mugs As she enjoys a cup of hot tea and honey, she will be smiling from about your friendship!

This is a really beautiful Coffee Lovers Gift Box, Gold & Silver Organic Kona Hawaiian Coffee, Afternoon Tea Time Gift Bag , Tea & Cocoa Gift Basket. So many options, you simply need to search for them!

The Pavilion Retirement mug (to the left) is so beautiful and so feminine. Click to see the larger view to fully appreciate it!

The tea cup basket to (right) is really nice too.. stuffed with yummy treats!

If this gift is for a co-worker, consider the treats they eat all day long.. buy a bunch of goodies they enjoy, put them in a fancy basket, tuck in a china tea cup & saucer, some specialty teas, and don't forget oodles of lace or ribbon to fancy dancy that basket up! Personalize that baby, they'll love it!

Jewelry is always appreciated

Here is a Beautiful Retirement Bracelet -- I love the pearl look! Here is another Retirement Necklace. I just got pearls for my 30th wedding anniversary!

This one is a bit funkier,. I like funky too! It's a cheaper bracelet that promises inspiration and FUN for her retirement days!

Guess what I got from staff for my own retirement? I received a KEY pendant... totally love it. I'm a symbolical person, and my co-workers didn't even realize that! My key stands for my new retired life: adventure, independence, passion, life after employment, and away we go into my new retired life!

I hope you liked a few of my suggestions... pamper her and make her feel privileged. Douse her with luxury; offer her only the best.
