Gardening stories, vegetable or flowers,I canned and freeze vegetable, was in the garden club. No grandchildren but share with my friends and enjoy hearing stories of them etc. Sandy B
Hi from Northern Ontario by: Doreen (Canada)
Hi Maxine,
I, too, am an introvert. Very much a loner, although I do enjoy talking to people in small groups (4 or less). Not at all a party person.
I read a lot, mostly mysteries, do jigsaws on my computer, am writing a kind of biography for my kids. I have 3 daughters and 5 grandkids. I also like to crochet and to paint.
I go to Tai Chi twice a week but that isn't enough exercise so I am hoping to start something else. It's really hard to be motivated when you are on your own. Its easier when you have a partner depending on you to go or do whatever.
Sure would like to hear from you.
Aging by: Anonymous
I felt very comfortable with your comments. I am reaching out to women and/or men who have examined their feelings about aging.
I am having a problem accepting the fact that I am an "older woman".
My heart needs more knowledge in order for me to go forward into this terrifying aging process.
I hope you have some words of wisdom for me?
Yours with caring, Jane
You sound fine to me and settled down. by: Anonymous
To Australia:
Reading, walking, spending time with your family sounds very good to me.
I am Sandy and in assisted living at 71 years old. I love to walk, read too, but, all my family is deceased I was raised with.
What I do is collect chosen family and I have quite a collection actually., they are very close to me most of them. My life is full with my Catholic church as they have adopted me.
I play piano often here. I am a listener if you want a friendly ear. I was a decorator for 30 years so I had to listen to do my job.

Living in Southern Ireland by: Diane
Hello There,
Would you be interested in an E pal in Southern Ireland? I am a 65 woman married with 2 daughters, 1 married the other living in Northern Ireland. I also have 1 cat we did have 2 but he had to put to sleep at 18 as he went senile and was gradually wasting away.
I am originally from London but married a Cork man that is how I ended up living here.
Although I love being with people I am not very outgoing more so since I retired. I retired just over a year ago when my husband got very ill and I was spending so much time going too and from the hospital it was exhausting me.
Thank God my husband is well again but not the man he was before he got so ill after what should have been a straight forward operation so he doesn?t want to go out as much as he used to.
I love my computer, reading detective fiction, meeting my friends for lunch once a week and travelling as much as I can, although I must admit since I got older I don?t like flying as much as I used to. I used to knit and sew a lot but had to give it up as I was having trouble with my nerves in my arms.
I love finding out about other countries through people that live there I think that you really get a true picture of a country that way. The climate here is so wet it really doesn?t encourage one to go out that much especially this winter where we had the worse winter in over 50 years although the countryside here is so beautiful.
I miss my very extended family that live in England especially my sister and mum.
Don?t worry if you do not wish to email me as I may not be the person you would like to email or instant message too as I know the time difference can be a problem also I might not be the sort of person you are looking for.
I did fill in the form for a pen pal but it wasn?t in the newsletter I think I was nervous writing about myself in it and maybe didn?t put the right things in.
I will say bye and hope that you are keeping well. Take care and best wishes,
Diane

Hello Pal from Australia by: Alice
I've always wanted to visit Australia but it doesn't look like I will so I thought having a pen pal there would be a good thing.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm 70 years old. Have four children and eight grandkids.
I really have no hobbies but do have a few "love to do" things such as movies, reading and cooking. I will close for now and hope I hear from you.

Hello Australia!! by: Dana
I just wanted to say hi. My husband & I visited Australia for 5 weeks about 10 years ago - the best 5 weeks of our life!! The people were so great and we drove ourselves from Darwin south down the Stuart and finally ended up in Sydney. Your country is great! Our adventures will be with us forever!! Would love to hear about your place where you live in that great country!
