Small Business Retirement Plans
As you probably know, my own small business retirement plans are my websites. Yes, I am an E-Business Owner.I'm sharing with retirees how you can do a website, like I did, so that you might consider websites for additional retirement income, like me! NOTE: This is article 2 in a series of 4. If you'd like to start at the beginning, read my Retire to the Internet first.
Gardening Website Example:
Let's assume you have a green thumb and love fruit and vegetable gardening. You also freeze, can, and make jam/jelly from your garden goodies.Perfect for a website! You have knowledge that others, worldwide, seek! Finding your niche: OK, with this topic in mind (and this could be narrowed down to a tighter niche – gardening with vegetables, gardening fruits, making jams and jellies, keeping critters out of your garden), I would first use SBI's Brainstormer Tool. Using this tool, you search the internet and many keywords are provided for each topic. I am a brainstorm-aholic.., I would look for the best keywords to use for vegetable gardening, fruit gardening, making jams, making jelly, but also vegetable seeds, best beans, garden critters, staking tomatoes. I think you can see I could go on and on and on with many many topics. Write, write, write: So you find the perfect keywords, and you start writing – and keep it real. On page after page, on the topic of growing beans (with many great bean growing keywords). Tell your website visitors how you select the best bean seeds, what brand(s) you buy, catalogs they should request, how/when you plant the bean seeds, how to stake them, when to pick them, how to freeze them... Post to the internet: With SBI, it's easy to post your writing to the website. You don't even have to know website design, web code, you just cut and paste the article into blocks provided for whatever you need – a keyword, headline, text, photo/graphic, whatever you want to add to the page. Write more! What now? Pick another topic: Making jams. You would, of course, link this page to your strawberry, cherry, and grape pages, right? You then write about making strawberry jam... page by page. Topics like: how to clean the strawberries, recipes for strawberry jam, how to make the jam, how to sterilize the jars, how to seal each jar... details, details! You want to provide the very best information that you can. Details on each step of the gardening or jam process... pretend you know nothing, and teach someone how to do each step, beginning with the very basics. Don't assume readers know what you know.. many won't. More about the fantastic Brainstormer tool: Now – Every page you write is based on great keywords. The brainstormer tool shows you how many people have searched for those words, and how many websites already use them. Just THINK about that for a second – you won't select keywords that are already way overused out there, and you won't select keywords that nobody searches for. How does that sound for “stacking the deck” in your favor? It totally is! WHY does that matter? Getting great keywords is half the battle... Great keywords with great pages = visitors. Visitors = INCOME. Getting people to visitor your site: I've never ever paid for advertising on my websites, and yet I get 15,000+ visitors a month. I am working towards loads more! The search engines like my keywords and like to send people to my sites as I provide good information that people seek. Ok, now for the income... The reason you “work” hard to build a website (truly, this is not “work” to me, but does require time and effort). You'd go to Google Adsense and apply. Then, you simply paste small snippets of code on the website. If a visitor clicks, you earn income. Really simple. Then, maybe you'd do an e-book on Making Your Own Jams... using all the recipes already on the website. You would sell it online, for simple download by the buyer (no printing necessary) and would allow other websites to sell it for a commission. These two incomes alone could produce a really nice income for you.. what that income is depends on how much you put into the website, how many pages, how many visitors, etc. Continue on to another website idea: Extra Retirement Income
