Social Security Reduced at 62 ?

by Herman
(Wisconsin)

If I retire at 55 after 30 years of work, and don't work again -- and start collecting social security at 62, will my social security benefit be reduced?

Wendy Yes, for several reasons:

l) you worked 30 years, not 35 used in the calculation

2) age 62 is considered an early retirement, not full Social Security age
