A Certain Kind of Freedom: Stories and Poems from The Writer's Drawer

by Beryl Belsky
(Israel)

The minute I retired on 1 October 2013, I set about compiling and editing an anthology of stories and poems from the intercultural, literary website I'd already set up pre-retirement, The Writer's Drawer, www.thewritersdrawer.com.

The name of the book is "A Certain Kind of Freedom: Stories and Poems from The Writer's Drawer," and it includes the work of 33 writers of all ages, from all over the world, whose pieces were selected from the website.

Self-publishing was a learning process, but the book has finally come out and is available on Amazon.

The contributors and I are very happy with the result: a compact volume with a story or poem to suit all moods. The book is an ideal holiday gift for lovers of all genres of writing and for those who enjoy literature from different cultures.

Dear Nina,
You can find out quite a lot about the process of preparing the anthology "A Certain Kind of Freedom: Stories and Poems from The Writer's Drawer" at the interview conducted with me by author Therese Vannier. The link is:

The book was self-published by Amazon's CreateSpace. However, I hired a graphic artist to design the cover and format the book.

If you have any other questions, you can contact me at writersdrawer@gmail.com.
You and your colleagues are invited to submit some of your creative work to The Writer's Drawer (www.thewritersdrawer.net)

Hello,

How impressive! It is inspirational to read how you produced your book "Stories and Poems from The Writer's Drawer". Since I am in a creative writing class and enjoy writing poems plus other types of literature it would be good for me to learn how to put together our creative work.

Could you let me know how you went about it? Thank you for any suggestions and advice.

Best Wishes, Nina
