Updated 2026. My mother passed at age 97 (2024) RIP. I will be updating this site so I can help retirees again. Write to me!

Life of a retiree can sure be mysterious. Why do I say that? Because every day becomes a new adventure. Some adventures bring you up and some drag you down. The secret is to always get back up because who knows, tomorrow might be a much better day but if you don't get back up you will never know.
There has been a reason why I haven't been here to this site for a bit, and after reading some of my past posts, I got to thinking. Take your own advice. Don't let it bring you down. How do they say to cowboys that try to tame that wild horse after he has thrown you. Get back on that horse! So, here I am doing my best to get back on the horse so to speak.
Always trying to find humor in things that occur in our life and recently spending more time in front of the Boob Tube as we used to call it, I came across some Movies For Seniors:
Drawablanca
The Silence of the Lambs when My Hearing Aid's Turned Off
Some Like it Lukewarm
Raiders of the Lost Car Keys
Forrest Grumpy
Dances with Walkers
Mutiny at the Bingo Hall
Guess What's Coming Up --- Dinner!
I will leave it to your own minds to figure out where I came up with this list but being retirees, I am sure most of you will remember. 'Nuff said!
Since I am in a fun-loving mood, here are a few Fun Puns to get you smiling:
The two pianists had a good marriage. They always were in a chord.
After hours of waiting for the bowling alley to open, we finally got the ball rolling.
Allow me to also add some thoughts to ponder over:
How do 'Do Not Walk on Grass' signs get there?
Is it possible for someone to become addicted to therapy? And if so, how would you treat them?
So much for the humor part of this post. We all have our ups and downs during this stage of our lives. The trick to have mostly good days as we move forward, is to do like I do or attempt to do - wake up with the question: What type of mischief can I get in to today? It usually works. That and if you are married (we are now for 62 plus years) always get your better half (I consider mine to be my better half) smiling. It is amazing what a smile or a short joke in the morning can do to brighten your day.
Well, that's about all I have to say today. Hopefully this post got you smiling and eager to get on with your day. I know it works wonders for me.
Until next time!
