Circling the Drain

by Joanne
(Rochester, NY)

I hsve been retired since 1990 from the Eastman Kodak Company. We received free healthcare, life insurance and dental benefits. Last week Kodak went into bankruptcy and we will lose all our benefits.

I am diabetic, twice cancer, and heart trouble. I have become a cash cow for the medical community with the $40 co-pays for doctors visits and high medicine co-pays.

Preventive medicine has now become nothing but a paycheck for the healthcare community. The tests have become too frequent and in the end unnecessary. No illness is researched for a cure, only to sell more medicine. When is the last time anyone has heard of a cure to any illness?

I only forsee all my retirement money going to feed the healthcare community.

I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL THE SENIORS DOWN THERE IN YOUR GREAT COUNTRY WHO HAVE WORKED TOWARDS RETIREMENT ONLY TO HAVE TO SPEND THEIR RETIREMENT MONEY ON THEIR OWN HEALTH CARE! HOW UNFORTUNATE FOR YOU & THEM!

WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE IN CANADA TO HAVE SUCH UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL CANADIANS* WHEN SENIORS WHO LIVE IN CANADA BECOME ILL FOR WHATEVER REASON OUR GOVERNMENT TAKES VERY EXCELLENT CARE OF US!

SOLDIER ON SO TO SPEAK, AND BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR HEALTH CARE SITUATION, MAYBE WITH ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF THE SAME GOVERNMENT, SENIORS MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE AT BETTER HEALTH.

GOD BLESS AND GOD LUCK.
