Friendship and Food

I confronted a friend about her negativity and expressed my need for a "break" as my friend Sue struggles with her life.

I seek ways to enrich mine, seeking positive/upbeat connections SO I found myself reaching out to a preoccupied neighbor/friend Lisa to whom I delivered some tasty vittles Lisa had requested from Cook Dora.

I experienced a lovely visit with Lisa who gave me spinach and broccoli from her garden and I enjoyed the veggies with my Dora Dinner.

I also shared a surplus of Dora Pasta/Shrimp with reclusive Neighbor Gene and Reiki Lady Brigitte, realizing how very much The Food Experience--especially homemade--impacts the receiver so I'll continue to share my surplus and receive back good karma and perhaps more garden goodies, yes.

EXCHANGING
by: Loyce!

I built and erected a book/box exchange in front of my house, four years ago and while I've yet to connect with any neighbors and received few acknowledgments.

I have picked up a few books for my own pleasure and also by serendipity met Holly--who's become a very good friend so the book/exchange has paid off in a most unexpected manner as after four years Holly and Husband Kent visited me and we had a lovely visit solidifying our email connection stemming from my book/box exchange which Holly also has.

Language Exchange
by: loyce smallwood

In addition to my food exchanging, I also practice my Spanish with other enthusiasts and Cook Dora encourages me with the language since D is from Columbia. I returned the favor last evening by helping D with challenging homework in English. It is fun to be a student of languages, si.

When my parents lived part of the year in Vegas, they shared meals with neighbors quite often.

Sometimes one neighbor would invite another couple or two over and they all ate. Other times, someone would drop by home-baked treats, or dinners... they all shared whatever they had and thoroughly enjoyed unexpectedtreats!

Last night, we went to a friends home for dinner. This is a couple we know from church, they also invited another couple. She made her "famous" pot pie, salad and dessert for us. Afterwards, we watched "God's Not Dead" movie... it was a fabulous night. Quite unusual for us... but very nice!
