Surprisingly loving it.... retirement!

by John
(Australia)

I retired 16 months ago at age 56 after working for 30 years in Mental Health/Hospitals.

The one thing I thought I'd miss was the structure/routine of the working day...however....not missed it for one single day.

Am loving the freedom....travelling, catching up with people, day-dreaming about my options, and am always surprised about how much less I am living on than anticipated.

What's the old cliche... 'only boring people get bored'... completely agree with this.

If you are healthy, then grab this opportunity..one day it will all be over so live your life to it's fullest...what a gift you have been given.

John..on the east coast of Australia.

John, All I have to say is that if you worked in mental facilities for 30 years, no wonder you are enjoying retirement. That had to be very hard work and mentally draining. Be free and fly like a bird, you deserve it!
