66 years old and retiring

what do I need to know about retirement from my employer?

Wendy: You give no details so how can I give you the questions to ask?

If your employer has a pension plan, ask for an estimate of your retirement benefits if you choose to retire. It's only an estimate request, and doesn't mean that you will choose to retire -- only that you are looking into the possibility and doing some retirement planning.

After you review the calculation, you might have some questions on the different options available under the plan. Will you choose an option with a survivor benefit for your wife?

Does your employer provide any supplemental health care benefits? Life Insurances?

Hope this helps!
