Happiness is a choice:
all day, every day!

Can you define "happiness"?

For a long time, even as a Retirement Coach, I tried to stay away from the word "Happiness".

  • Happiness is like a butterfly! Happiness is elusive. One minute you've got it, other times you feel sad, depressed and miserable.
  • Happiness is an inside job! Happiness is subjective. What you find as a happy moment in time, I may not. We all have different definitions of happiness.
  • Happiness is a choice! Happiness is vague. We need to dig deep to discover the WHY, WHAT, and WHEN answers to find real happiness within.

I did write about How To Retire Happy, but even then I felt something was missing.

Your mindset plays a big role in emotional well-being — explore more in emotional support for seniors.

For weeks, deep in home quarantine during COVID times, I chose to take an online Happiness class. It was taught by a Psych major who spent a major part of his career studying Happiness. Perfect!

I needed focus, I needed to keep my own mindset away from TV news, and maybe, just maybe, I can find the answers to this elusive thing called Happiness.

Well, I am really enjoying this class and I want to pay it forward right now. While it's all fresh in my mind and my notes are new, I want to think this out more.

Choosing happiness is part of a bigger picture — explore more ideas on how to retire happy.

If you’d like something practical, try this happy retirement exercise to help shift your thinking.

Don't be that Grumpy Ole Retiree!
