Florida Snow Birds:
Buy or Rent Winter Place

Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on whether to buy or rent a place in Florida when we retire. I have toured some mobile home parks in the Ft. Myers area and don't know what direction to go. Would it be worth it to purchase a mobile home or just rent a place for 3-4 months a year. Thanks.

Buy or Rent in Fl. ?

Do you go to FL. Often ? Do you have family there ? Have you rented there before and found that you like a certain area ? If you have'nt rented in an area you should before you buy. Rent in a couple of different areas first for a couple of years.

Try the PCB area collage town lots of things to do golf is cheep and the oysters are great. Then try Fort Pierce, Ft. Lauderdale etc. But of course the further south you go the rent goes up.

Once you find where your are happy then buy. The market is great right now. Good luck and stay warm!

Buy a foreclosure... watch America's Auction Network AANTV. They have a lot of inventory in your area. It would be a SMART investment.

It is much more economical to buy a mobile home or even a foreclosure as we are chock full of them... you may want to move here someday, so why rent and make someone richer? Port Saint Lucie where i am is a great town and has great mobile home parks and we're by the beach..
