90-Year Old Mothers

by Ann—Tennessee

I’m so sorry to hear about your mother, Wendy.

My mother is 91, fell on Mother’s Day and broke her leg just below the hip replacement and pain that were already in there. She almost had to have colon surgery for an intestinal blockage caused by the orthopedic surgery then we had an inflamed pancreas and gallbladder.

She’s been in the hospital or assisted-living since May 9 and has had lots of confusion, also which is very unlike her, I know how you feel.

Wendy: It's really difficult watching Mom suffer... Sending Prayers your way, Ann!

Another Mother

I imagine there are many of us that retired and now find ourselves asking care of an elderly parent. My mother is 92 and suffers from mid stage Alzheimer’s disease.

Last Thanksgiving she fell and broke her hip and wrist. She had surgery surgery went into hospice. But she is strong and surprised us all.

She recovered, graduated out of hospice and can take long walks and enjoy the outdoors.

Here’s to all my fellow retirees that retired into this unexpected role.

So sorry to hear about your mom. It’s so difficult to watch someone you love slowly deteriorate. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
