I just finished reading a book, "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom and I am still feeling the effect it had on me. Like Dr. Phil says, "We are the next generation to go" so I guess it is normal to think about and imagine what life after death will be like for us.

This book will help you reflect upon your own life and will help you understand your place on earth. Ever since I retired, I have thought a lot about what I never accomplished while in the workforce and I have felt like I have not contributed very much to society.

This book has given me a whole new perspective on how to accept my time that I am spending on earth and to feel good about myself.

This book is truly a beautiful story about life and death and is written in a way that most of us can relate to.

Thanks for your post! I have been planning to read that book and now I'll make the effort to pick it up!

I was struck by your comment that you feared you didn't accomplish all you wanted while you were in the workforce and that you may not have contributed much to society. Please try not to feel that way.

If you were responsible for yourself, didn't end up in prison, never lived off other people or the government fraudulently and supported yourself and/or your family - you HAVE contributed more to society than you realize. In the very least, you weren't a DRAIN on society.

Don't be so hard on yourself, and thank you for the book recommendation.
