Can he collect Social Security at age 63?

My brother, age 63, has not worked for the past several years and now wants to try and collect social security. How does he go about this?

Wendy's Reply: At age 62, folks are eligible to begin drawing a Social Security Benefit. I wonder why you say he will "try" to collect... unless he didn't work for many many years.

Check out: Contact Social Security -
he can just call them and they can schedule an appointment for a call back to apply for the benefit.

I hope this helps!
