Christmas Memories Over The Years

by Ricardo

My first memory goes back about sixty five years.

Westerns and cowboys were all the rage and yours truly could never get enough of Hoppy, Roy, Gene, Wild Bill, Cisco Kid, Lone Ranger, you name it, I loved and idolized each and every one of them.

Well that particular Christmas back in 1950 was a special one because I received from Santa a pair of "Fanner Fifty" six shooters, the rage at that time. I wore them EVERYWHERE, and seldom took them off....I was in heaven.....I wish that I still had them now!

The following year I sent away for a place setting of Hoppy's that I received in the mail right before Christmas. Well, I would not eat unless I had "Hoppy" starring back at me with my six shooters wrapped around my waist sitting at the kitchen table in all my glory.......

I was in heaven surely heaven.......with not a care in the world and the warmth of the Christmas season all around me with family friends! Merry Christmas.

Thank you Ricardo. Your recollections brought back a flood of pleasant childhood memories for me. Probably had me thinking of things I haven't thought of in years.

Like you I was a big fan of all the TV cowboys and dreamed of owning my own horse. I asked my mother for one for Christmas. She asked me where we could keep it in our small city house. I said a small pony would do which I would keep under my bed!
