Grandchildren

My daughter and son in law have three children. They live 6 hours away but I see them often enough. Both work and are very involved with the kids.

My question is eating habits of these kids. The 12 year old will eat one chicken dish and a burger, the 9 year old will eat peanut butter and jelly, salami and chicken nuggets, the 6 year old terrorist survives on bread, cereal and sweets.

My daughter tries to get them to eat healthier but my son in law gives them massive amounts of sweets, candy and their main stay, cereal, cereal, cereal.

i hate seeing these kids grow up with poor diets and what health issues they will have in the future. My daughter and her son are highly educated so it isn't like they don't know about nutrition.

But, guess I should just keep my mouth shut.

You are better off not talking to the adults. But you could explain to the children about health and nutrition. They may just surprise you and decide it's important.

My Grandsons, too
by: Elizabeth Spokane

I have three grandsons who are 12, 7 and 5. The oldest will eat chicken, macaroni and cheese (but only one brand), pizza, cheese burritos, chicken nuggets and any kind of bread. The 7 year old eats cereal, breads, and any kind of sweets he can get and my youngest will try anything once. He eats the best. Their mother tries to get them to eat better and I have, too. I hope they will grow out of junk food. At least they dislike french fries from fast food places.
