Retired Husband wants constant sex

My husband has decided that we should have sex every day and sometimes more than once. He is 74 and I am 68.

We have been together for 36 years and married for 25. I REALLY am getting tired of being chased around. I don't feel he is interested in me, but keeps overstimulating himself to keep the sex thing going.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this comment. I have not seen a similar problem posted.

People who need sex all the time do this out of anxiety. Their mood is off or they feel anxious, and they want the emotional and physical release that comes with sexual activity. For them, sex is a tool to feel better-not to feel closer to another person.

There are also certain medications such as testerone that can increase sexual drive. And, as previously mentioned, pornographic images.

If it tends to occur in the late afternoon, it might even be Sundowner's Syndrome.

If it were me, I'd be contacting his physician to rule out all possibilities

Wow and I thought my husband was over the top.

There’s no way I could handle that...too many other interesting enjoyable things in life...

Just agree on a certain number of times per week that work for both of you. As a man, he can take care of his needs the rest of the time. Since you said he is overstimulating, I assume you might mean the little blue pill. Maybe he needs to speak with his doctor about the appropriate use of those medications.

Maybe arrange date night where he needs to whoo you rather than go all caveman on you and treating you like a hunting prize .

Finally just say no and get him too make lunch or go build a boat etc . He is just trying to ease his lack of use, tell him to man up ,drop his toy , pull on his big boy pants and get the dinner made 😁

I’m 70 and husband is 79. Retired 9 years now. I take medicine for depression and anxiety. The drugs kill any sex drive. But my husband would like sex every day. I just can’t. I try once or twice a week for him. Does little for me.

Sorry I do not have any good suggestions just understanding.

He probably feels like if he doesn't use it, he'll lose it. It's difficult being a man and realizing that the organ that defined you during your youth isn't functioning the way it used to or may not function at some point in the future. I speak from experience.

My husband had a radical prostatectomy at age 55 and we have struggled for the last 8 years.

My advice is to enjoy it while you can. (Twice a day is bit much though!) Good luck to you both.
