Retirement Hobby: Doing puzzles and plastic model building

by Ira
(New Jersey)

I am recently retired at 62 1/2 and searching for different hobbies. Two hobbies I enjoyed when I was younger was building plastic model planes and tanks and doing puzzles

I am trying different things to see what sticks. Only a month and a quarter into retirement and have my ups and downs each day.

I assume that is normal part. Of the adjustment phase?

Welcome to your life of "leasure" LOL

We retired at 62, now at 82, and still have not done some of the things we had planned on doing.

Best advice I can give thou is get active in some out side activity, join a club, or do some volunteer work.

At 62 you might even find some part time employment that will always give you a little mad type money or that little extra to buy that model plane you have been wishing for, and the best part of all is one can say No.

I have found some very relaxing times helping at two Historical Societies. it is something that was not related to our line of employment so it opened up a few new horizons also many new area's of interest .
