Retirement Location: North Carolina, USA

North Carolina is one of the best places to retire. Actually there was a study done; stating that Raleigh - Cary, North Carolina was second in the Country of best places to retire.

I grew up here in the outskirts of Raleigh. However, even though I am partially fond to my town; there are many retirees moving here. Prices are at good rates and the weather is amazing. We have hot summers and cold winters; a great mixture. we also have mountains and beach less than 3 hours away from Raleigh.

Houses are being built in little towns on the outskirts of the City; which give you more of an opportunity to relax and still have things to do.

The attractions here are great. Including movie theaters, great churches, malls and etc. There is something to always do.

I am retired and I love living here. I wouldn't move anywhere else due to the fact that I feel so comfortable here.

Speaking about finances, I currently door greet at the local walmart. It is something that I enjoy and I make a little bit of money. I honestly, saved a lot of money for my retirement. It was very important for me to make sure that I would be economically stable when I retired. I had paid my truck and house off before I retired; so I live a good life.

I hope that you will consider good ole' North Carolina when you think about retiring-- I promise, you will not regret it.

I have a townhouse in Raleigh and in Florida. I prefer Raleigh. The people are friendly, there is lot's to do and the weather is not bad.

NC property taxes

NC has horribly high property taxes.
Property taxes are my main consideration.
It gets very cold there too & the congestion is nerve racking for me.
