Mrs Penpal asks emailing to make pen friends with you

Hi!

I am so curious about how people in other countries are living their life...as you are.

I like people but lazy or insincere, and I think I am a very good correspondent unlike those who come to stop their writing secondly or thirdly.

I wish I could write to pen pals who are around my age (70's) and inform different culture one another.

I am interested in reading, emailing, photography, movies and crosscultural topics.

Expecting your messages.

Mrs Penpal

Jazzy Piano Playing Senior Seeks New Friends

by Carol S.
(Maryland, U.S.A.)

Hi everybody,

I am in my "senior" years -- living in Maryland -- working part time as a musician, enjoying my Clavinova Digital piano.

So much to do, so little time!

I love to relax and be quiet but I equally love to go out into the world and see what's going on! Love movies, theater, day trips and good restaurants. Love children and dogs.

Outgoing personality. Favorite dog is . . Italian Greyhound . . . but I don't have one now. Brought up in the city, worked in the city, so know nothing about country living or farming. Sure was a good life as a kid in the city, however, didn't miss a thing! Love my faith which is Catholic and attend church regularly. Would still love to do a little traveling, too.

Would like some new friends male and female. Don't have a significant other but would love one if fate is kind in that direction!

Hope to hear from anyone with some similarities.

I am a "Horsing around Senior!" .

by Trendsa
(Georgia)

Yes...I have horses...love horses so I "horse around" a lot! Use to show English but now all I do is clean up their poop and hug their neck. They have it made! I still love to attend horse shows and festivals.

Most of my friends in my age bracket (70) have either passed on to the Gloryland or moved to be near their kids... so I am looking to find new friends with similar interest.

My career work was in the Corporate World in Engineering, Graphics, Marketing and Electronics mostly in Telephony Industry. I also love to research and find Genealogy fasinating and interesting.

I am a quiet person.... don't like crowds,,, love nature and just enjoy wildlife and Earth's natural beauty. I used to fish but don't do that because don't have anyone to go with me now. I am city born and raised with 4 yr University educational background, but just a country gal at heart. Love country music as well as other types but hate rap or hip hop! Can't understand why they call that stuff, Music!

I consider myself well rounded on subject matters.... love art... and most things. Hope to someday get 27 ft RV Class C and travel .... take photos of this great land while we still have freedom to do so!!! I now live in the deep South but may be moving soon.

If you want to know a old grey mare, (new friend) write to trendsa at peoplepc.com.

I will email you back. Let's get acquainted.

looking for Cooking pen pal

by Gayle

Hi, I am looking for a cooking pen pal. I used to get a little magazine called HOME COOKING that has over the years stop production. I enjoyed the section where people were asking for recipes they could not find and I made several long time pen pals out of that but they have now passed. Anyone know of a site that is similar to the section in that book.

When your smiling, when your smiling, the world smiles back at you

by mary ellen
(overland park, kansas usa)

Dear Friend: searching high and low, and around the pen-pal sites I have ended up here with you.

Not sure of the qualifications for a penfriend which I have, well dont despair, they are quite un-complicated. You must have a love of the theatre and musical one as well, you must be a charming, Romantic and no phonies guy, one who loves life, and doesnt criticize everything and every one, as it is a complete turnoff to me, I prefer and feel more comfortable with a male type soul mate or counter part of a friend.

I love to walk on the trails and parks and do so every morning for two miles and also work out on my home gym for 50 minutes each day. No you dont have to kill yourself to keep up with me as its to each his own, whatever you do is fine with me I never pre-judge a true friend, they are too hard to come by.

I also have a love of gardening flowers as well as vegetables, and maybe even fresh herbs, when I have the space, Ilove to travel, now that does not mean I fly around all the time, not true. only once a year on a major vacation, and some minor trips locally, to museums, zoos, botanical gardens, and yes I love outdoor photography, as a matter of fact Iam a outdoor retired photographer, Painted ladies are my all together top of the list, but I dont shy away from waterfalls and mountains.

-- physical description removed --

so there you have it, if you find me an interesting pen pal, do not hesitate to respond, will answer all reasonable request.

Cape Cod Senior - Looking To Communicate With........................

.............. You! Let's start chatting together...what do ya' say?

Let's see.... I'm a 61 yr. old female - living in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. I'm married, and our daughter, her husband, and their two girls (our sweet little granddaughters) live with us. I feel so fortunate to be able to be so close to them - compared to some of my friends who have family spread all over the place.

I previously worked in the medical field, and now I'm retired. I live in a small seaside village. The village is bustling with tourists right now, but in the fall....ah, glorious fall....we get to have it all to ourselves, once again. There are very few year 'round families in our area - so it gets quiet...and quite peaceful. It's so wonderful to live by the sea.

There's a quote that I love: 'The cure for anything is salt water ~ be it Tears, Sweat, or The Sea' - Isak Dinesen

I enjoy reading, and walking the family dog - Stanley, especially along the beach,....um... I'm learning to paint watercolors,(it's SO unforgiving, but it intrigues me at the same time!)... uh.... I have plans to pick up knitting again, and I also enjoy discussing local and national politics. I ADORE music - of course, oldies - but I also enjoy classical, some country, and soft Spanish Guitar as background music.

I'm looking to have some great conversations with new friends...and I want to know about you!..and what you're like - and how you're enjoying life - so far!

I can hardly wait to hear from you....so drop me an email, and let's begin having some great little chats!

This is such a wonderful opportunity to befriend people from all over the world, isn't it? I feel so lucky to have found this site.

I'm waiting to hear from you - you don't need to feel shy - I promise not to bite. I promise to write you back, too! :)

Write soon!

Minny-Soda Writer Seeking Friends

by Zenobia
(Brooklyn Center Minnesota)

Hi Everyone!

I have been a member of Wendy's retirement group for some time and have met a couple of very interesting and fun people. My thoughts now are , the more the merrier!

I will be sixty five in October, I am a very active and busy person and this scares people because they assume I have no time for friends, but that is just not true.

When you have friends, you make the time...

So, a little about me...I am a writer with two published books and they are not on Amazon right now, but still selling and still book signing and still getting a few speaking engagements. I am also doing a small gift basket business, and working part time. I am kind of a floater as a leasing agent and housing specialist...kind of....LOL

I enjoy various types of music, and am ardent adventurer and will try anything within reason. I love people and many animals, but do not have a pet at the moment. I am trying to figure out where I might land next and if there is pet acceptance before I commit and fall in love with a little critter I might have to let go due to rental policies.

I am originally from the Chicago Illinois area...born and raised, but live in Minnesota now..as a matter of fact, for over twenty years.

Well, enough about me...I would like to meet YOU and find out how you are faring these days!

Hope to hear from you soon!

I want pen-pals, I don't need them!

by Helen
(Delaware, USA)

I'm almost 66 years old (August 29) and recently moved from Philadelphia, PA to Delaware. A little culture shock, the pace is so much slower here, but I'm getting used to it! I live in an over 55 community and enjoy the activities. I also volunteer several days a week and try to keep myself busy.

I worked for a State agency in Pennsylvania for 25 years before retiring in June 2007. I have one daughter and two teenaged grandsons (groan). My daughter and grandsons will be moving to Delaware as soon as I sell her house in Philly.

I enjoy traveling and do so whenever the pocketbook allows. I have been on about 12 cruises and also traveled to Europe several times. I've also been to the Caribbean and Antarctica.

I met a travel buddy on a travel site for people who don't want to travel alone and pay the huge single supplement. We have been traveling for almost 10 years and she also moved to Delaware. She was about 1.5 hours driving time away, and now she's three houses away. We do lots of things together, but also have our alone time.

I am hoping to find a 'penpal' to write to. If you live close, maybe we could meet occasionally for dinner or just chat. My email address is Blueyes829 at gmail.com

If you can see a small black dot in the picture, it's me in a Zodiac.

MY WIFE OF 50 YEARS PASSED IN 2007 AND SO MANY OF THE PEOPLE I WORKED WITH ARE GONE OR JUST TOO BUSY WITH THEIR CHILDREN/GRANDCHILDREN. I NOW UNDERSTAND MY GRANDMOTHER WHO COULDN'T REMEMBER YESTERDAY, BUT REMEMBERED IN FINE DETAIL WHAT HAPPENED YEARS AND YEARS AGO.

NOW, WHERE DID I PUT MY CAR KEYS?

LOVES ALL THINGS COUNTRY

by Rita S
(Las Vegas NV)

I love the country, and I'd like to correspond with like minded folks, especially from Pennsylvania or Ohio.

Cooking is my passion along with collecting cookbooks. I do crafts and am an avid reader.

I'm now starting into semi-retirement cutting back to a 3 day work week which will enable me to try my hand at patio/container gardening. I live in the suburbs of Las Vegas, NV, but not by choice, as I'm originally from Ohio.

I also like educational TV like PBS. Would like to hear from you.

Answer Some Questions To Begin A Relationship

by Rick Sluss
(Milwaukee, WI, United States)

Questions to Get to Know Someone by Andrew Tarvin Just ask one of the below “get to know you” questions… they’re meant to be fun, interesting questions that can help you learn more about the person you are talking to. These questions can be great for team-building, learning more about your fellow co-workers, and for spicing up your standard introductions.

A quick caveat: there are thousands of interesting questions to get to know someone, but I’ve found that the below questions (pulled from games like “Table Topics “, shows like Inside the Actor’s Studio, and from my own brain) are unique or interesting enough to force a person to think. If they’ve been asked the same question a thousand times before, it’s not as effective in engaging the person in your conversation. And these are just a starting point; take these team-building questions and modify them to meet your needs and situation.

Favorites Questions

Asking someone about their favorite blank is a great way to get know them better and learn about their preferences and opinions. These questions are good for when you are first meeting someone and are easy to incorporate as part of introductions in a larger group, such as asking each person to say their name, role, and favorite food as a child.

1. What was your favorite food when you were a child?
2. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
3. What is one of your favorite quotes?
4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
6. What is your favorite form of exercise?
7. What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
8. What’s your least favorite mode of transportation?
9. What is your favorite body part?
10. What sound do you love?

If… Questions

Hypothetical questions help you learn more about another person’s personality, as well as their ideal state of the world. Since many of these questions might evoke longer responses, they are better suited for one-on-one conversations or smaller group discussions.

1. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
2. If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint?
3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
4. If you knew the world was ending in 2012, what would you do differently?
5. If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
6. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
7. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
8. If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?
9. If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?
10. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
11. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
12. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
13. If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would it be?
14. If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be?
15. If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Personal Questions

Asking personal questions gets right to the purpose of getting to know someone and can be used in smaller groups with elaborate answers or larger groups with quick responses.

1. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
2. What do you want to be when you grow up?
3. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
4. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
5. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Personal History Questions

Questions involving people’s past help give you insight into their character and background by revealing memorable moments from the person’s life. These are great for one-on-one interactions or for smaller, more intimate groups. These questions help build trust as they are more personal than some of the other types of questions.

1. Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
2. What was one of the best parties you’ve ever been to?
3. What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
4. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
5. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
6. What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
7. When was the last time you had an amazing meal?
8. What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received?
9. What do you miss most about being a kid?
10. What is your first memory of being really excited?
11. What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
12. When was the last time you were nervous?
13. What is something you learned in the last week?
14. What story does your family always tell about you?
15. At what age did you become an adult?

Random Questions

Random questions can be a great way to add some quirkiness to introductions or a conversation. These are best used when each person gets a different question because they intentionally break people’s expectations with an abstract question in the midst of a variety of other questions.

1. Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.
2. Where’s Waldo?
3. The best part of waking up is?
4. How now brown cow?
5. Whasssssuuuupppppp?

What’s your favorite question to get to know someone? Share it with the rest of us in the comments. Also check out how to use these questions to create a better survey.

This is just a suggestion for you to get started. I hope to hear from you soon.
